I have been sick for 8 days. Here is how my symptoms have progressed:
Days 1–2: I had a fever, body aches, and a mild cough.
Mid period: I lost my sense of smell completely, had a burning sensation in my nose and mouth, and developed ear sensitivity and congestion.
Currently: I have a headache, low-grade fever that has returned, ongoing cough, mild ear congestion, and pain in my gums and tooth roots.
I am concerned that this may have developed into sinusitis or a bacterial infection. Could you please advise whether I need any treatment or antibiotics?1 reactieReageren

You have to know whether there is a viral (mostly the case) or bacterial infection. In case of a viral infection your body has to resolve the problem/ to overcome the infection. The use of an nasal spray can prevent sinusitis.
In case of a bacterial infection the advise is the samen, though: if nothing will better after 5 days , with fever, you could consider to use antibiotics. Consult your physician/ GP. He can differentiate between bacterial/ viral infections.
