Although pregnancy itself is not a direct cause, the immune system can change during pregnancy, which may play a role in developing infections that lead to meningitis. So the question is whether a bacterium is the cause. A bacterium should be detectable.
Have you also been to the AMC tropical center for this? Which different medical disciplines have you visited?
